Lisa has had a lifelong quest of trying gain a deeper understanding of the human psyche and the world around us. After being raised in Scotland as a Jehovah's Witness, Lisa left the movenment and went on a journey of self-discovery. Her initial move was to relcoate to England and gain a degree at the University of Huddersfield. After gaining a BSc. she then worked in roles in different sectors alternating between environmental education, rural affairs, school governance, youth mentoring and community outreach support for adults with complex needs.

During a career break to raise family Lisa deepened her journey of self-discovery leading her to try out Block Clearance Therapy. This therapy seemed to marry psychological thought with a holistic approach that allowed for a greater depth of change. She became so impressed with this therapy and its results that she began training in 2008. This, often vigorous training, lasted several years under the creator of BCT, Patricia Sterry. Then over a hundred case studies later Lisa became fully qualified to become one of only a handful of UK practitioners who has successfully completed training. As a qualified BCT practitioner she attends on-going training, has supervision, follows a code of conduct and is fully insured. Lisa also holds a full and current DBS check.

Since qualification Lisa has continued to broaden her therapist skill-set with obtaining qualifications in Psychodynamic Counselling, reflexology and body-work. She has also: helped run a wellbeing group for vulnerable adults, provided training in mental health, set up and ran a self-development group and attended various CPD days and other trainings to broaden her knowledge. She is currently developing online training and working on a collaborative audio broadcast project.
